Remembrance Sunday
Following a Service of Remembrance with the Commemoration of the Fallen, on Remembrance Sunday 14th November 2021 held at St Paul’s Cathedral, the Fruiterers’ Beadle Mr Ted Prior with Innholders’ Beadle Mr John Cash bringing up the rear led over 80 “Gowned” members from fifty-five Livery Companies and Guilds along Cheapside to the London Troops War Memorial in front of the Royal Exchange.
Wreaths were laid first by the Lord Mayor Alderman Vincent Keaveny then by senior representatives of the Armed Forces, the Emergency Services and the Old Comrades.
The Immediate Past Master of the Fruiterers Company Mr David Simmons laid a wreath on behalf of the Livery Companies of the City of London and Wales.
With the formalities of the day complete many Liverymen accompanied by their Consorts and guests adjourned to the Guildhall where Mark Grove and his team from the Cook and the Butler had prepared and served hearty Sunday Lunch.
