Malvern Autumn Show
29th September 2018
Three Counties Showground - Worcestershire
Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th September
The opening day of this year’s Three Counties dawned warm and dry on the Fruiterers’ stand, ably staffed throughout the Show by Liveryman Graham Collier and a series of willing helpers.
Once again, we ran the Peoples’ Choice Perry Competition with a choice of five Pear Perries for members of the public to savour, all very different in style, appearance and taste.
The winner Out of the Orchard was announced at 3 p.m. on the Sunday and the prize was presented by the Master together with Celebrity Gardener & Journalist Alys Fowler.
Apart from being a traditional livestock show the Autumn Show is shared by the RHS who present awards as at their other shows. A Gold Medal and Best in Show award went to R V Roger’s - stunning display of apples, directly opposite the Fruiterers’ stand!
The show also holds the World’s Largest Vegetable Competition with, once again, 5 world records being broken.
This show is very different from the Royal Bath & West Show earlier in the year, in many ways it is more relaxed, but make no mistake, the competition in all the classes be they fowl, cloven hoofed or flora is just as intense, and the standard is as high as at its bigger brother the other side of the M5!
